Meet the Winners of The Rants Group’s Dog Days of Summer Photo Contest

The votes are in! In celebration of National Dog Day 2026, The Rants Group invited our residential tenants to introduce us to some of the four-legged residents who make our South Puget Sound rental communities feel like home.

Our first Dog Days of Summer Photo Contest brought in photos of dogs dressed up, striking a pose, enjoying the outdoors, hanging out with their humans and generally reminding us why dogs have a way of stealing the show.

After our tenants submitted their photos, we opened voting to the community to help choose the winners in six categories: Funniest Photo, Best Action Shot, Best Duo, Best Dressed, Cutest Pupper and People’s Choice.

Some things are simply better together. Brutus and Stewart earned first place in our Best Duo category.

Best Dressed

First Place: Knox — “Ride ’em Cowboy”

Knox rode away with first place in the Best Dressed category with a look worthy of the winner’s circle.

Cutest Pupper

First Place: Penny the Dachshund

There was plenty of competition for this one, but Penny the Dachshund took first place for Cutest Pupper.

People’s Choice

First Place: Penny the Dachshund

Penny did it again! In addition to winning Cutest Pupper, Penny the Dachshund was voted the People’s Choice winner in The Rants Group’s 2026 Dog Days of Summer Photo Contest.

Of course, a photo contest isn’t much of a contest without all the dogs—and humans—who joined in.

We want to recognize every Rants Group tenant who took the time to send us a photo and introduce us to their dog. From dressed-up pups and action shots to birthday celebrations, best friends and plenty of camera-ready poses, the entries made our first Dog Days of Summer Photo Contest a lot of fun.

Thank you as well to everyone who visited the contest, cast a vote and shared in the fun with us.

National Dog Day gave us a good excuse to celebrate some of the pets who are part of our rental communities throughout Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater and the greater South Puget Sound area—and we loved getting to meet them.
